Build Your Experience. Build Your Portfolio. Build Your Future.
Garment District News is more than a publication — it’s a collaborative media platform connecting fashion, textiles, costume design, manufacturing, and entertainment industries.
We believe talent grows through opportunity.
That’s why we offer hands-on internships designed to help students and emerging professionals gain real-world experience, develop skills, and build professional portfolios that open doors to future careers.
🌍 Exclusive Industry Access & Real-World Experience
One of the most unique aspects of internships with Garment District News is the opportunity to gain real industry access — not just classroom-style assignments.
Depending on performance, availability, and project needs, interns may have opportunities to participate in coverage of:
- International Fashion Weeks (Berlin, Paris, Milan, New York, London)
- Cannes Film Festival
- Costume Designer Awards
- Industry trade shows and exhibitions
- Designer showcases and presentations
- Textile and manufacturing events
- Film and costume industry productions
- Creative studio environments
- Professional interviews and media projects
Through Garment District News press credentials, interns can experience environments that most students — even after graduation — rarely access.
This is not guaranteed for every intern, but high-performing and committed team members may be invited to participate in these opportunities.
⚠️ Our Important Legal & Ethics Note:
Because internships are unpaid, we want to be clearly transparent.
Participation in travel or event coverage opportunities depends on project needs, intern performance, and logistical considerations. We will assign coverage to local students in the local area of the event first and foremost. IF an intern chooses a travel assignment on their own, all travel expenses are the responsibility of the participant unless otherwise specified.
🚀 Experience You Can’t Get in a Classroom
Our goal is to provide exposure that bridges the gap between education and professional careers.
Interns may gain experience such as:
✔ Working with real press access
✔ Observing professional industry workflows
✔ Participating in interviews and media production
✔ Contributing to published coverage of major events
✔ Networking with industry professionals
✔ Understanding how global creative industries operate
These experiences can significantly strengthen resumes, portfolios, and career confidence.
⭐ Why This Matters for Your Career
Many graduates enter the workforce with theoretical knowledge but limited real-world exposure.
Our internships aim to provide:
- Professional credibility
- Portfolio content tied to real events
- Industry understanding
- Confidence working in professional environments
- Networking opportunities
We believe opportunity should not be limited by experience — it should help create it.
